A New Swap

Well, I decided to start a new swap to stay active on AFA, but I didn't want it to be too big to handle because this baby is coming any day now...so I went with a goddess of __________ theme. Players can choose anything for their ladies to be a goddess of - silly things or real things...I thought I would do more whimsical, silly cards, but it didn't turn out that way.

Combo Swap

Even though I'm scaling back my ATC making (waaayyyy back!) I am still keeping active on the AFA site to be able to keep my hosting abilities etc. Luckily for me, this combo swap opened up, and I LOVE those! The idea was to pick a word from column A and a word from column B and mash them together in a card.

My combos were: Teacup goddess, party pig, zetti flamingo, and flying sock monkey.

Won't you Draw the ABCs With Me...

I hosted a new swap based on a MMH game I had played in a long time ago. The goal was to draw a card around a letter in the alphabet. I hope to get a complete set, and frame it. There could be words on the card or just the letter. Here were my submissions.

In the Style of...

Some of my favorite swaps are 'in the style of...' swaps where you are given an artist and have to create your own art in their style. I really enjoy the challenge, and the results are always pleasing. This swap was around the style of Rosina Wachtmeister.

This was for the Halloween PAT. I joined the zentangle group, and the themes were: candy corn, owl, pumpkins, and spider webs.

Fall Swaps

I'm getting close to being caught up! This swap was about creating zentangle pumpkins - two of my favorite things!

This swap was about using cheap art materials, in this case ballpoint pens, to create cards. It was really soothing, and a lot of fun!

This swap was all about seahorses. The orange one turned out to be my favorite!

Guess I'm Still Playing Catch Up...

This swap was another blind-drawn faces swap -which I always love!

This swap was all about the 4 seasons - the idea was to pick one subject and represent it changing in each season.

The Strangely Blue Swap and another Zen PAT

Glossary

AFA-Artist Trading Cards For All. A website that hosts swaps and individual trades of artist trading cards.

ATC-Artist Trading Card. A 2.5x3.5 work of art created to trade and collect.

HD/HP- Hand drawn/hand painted. Some swaps and trades are designated as hd/hp so players know not to use any collage elements.

Host Gift-In a swap it is customary to make an extra card on the theme as a thank you for the swap host. This is why many times in a 3:3 swap you will see 4 cards displayed.

MMH-Make Me Happy. This type of trade is where one person lists off some themes of cards they'd like to receive and the next player claims one of those topics and creates a card accordingly to send to person A. Then person B requests some themes and the next player after them creates one of those cards for person B.

PAT-Pick a Theme. It is a type of swap wherein each member of the group requests a specific theme for their return cards.

Swap-Sometimes people host a swap with a general theme and requirements. Anyone can sign up to play. Swaps usually are 3:3, but can be 6:6. Meaning each player makes 3 cards that fit the theme and then mails them to the host. The host then mixes them up and mails each player 3 different cards from 3 different artists.
