Artsy Photos

So, my friend showed me this fancy app that can edit photos on your phone (Snapseed - super easy!) and it looks great! It was so fun I got a little carried away taking photos of...nothing. And now I'm not sure what to do with all these cool photos I have, so they're considered art now and going on record here.

 

And of course I have to try it out with my two best subjects!

And finally, here are two of my friend's pictures that she took that are my absolute favorite! She has the greatest eye - what a photographer @bookishbitz!

Day 12 of the December Photo Challenge

The theme for today was listen.

Today's theme was the trickiest for me so far. I was so uninspired by the challenge. I think one of my worst faults is that I am prone to make snap judgements, and it is hard for me to get past them...for example: this theme is stupid. I don't really want to attempt any cliche jingle bell picture. So I'm just not going to do it...

I chose this picture in the end, because I love it! My son thinks he's so silly trying to eat bubbles in the bath, and the pure joy on his face is fabulous. And, to stretch it into our theme, LISTENING to him laughing and trying his hand at jokes is one of my favorite things to do. Looking at this picture I can just hear him laughing at himself!

Day 11 of the December Photo Challenge

The theme for today was up close.

This was actually taken yesterday, and I don't know if that's "cheating" using a picture I didn't take today...but we got snow yesterday and we didn't get any today! So, I'm breaking the rules I guess. It was just a dusting (literally!). But my son loved seeing everything all white. He was telling me how cccooooolldd it was outside in this picture. It was great! Plus, his lovely, long eyelashes really stand out in this close up!

Day 7 of the December Photo Challenge

Well, I skipped day 6. Not because the theme was too much or anything - I was just beat and fell asleep on the couch after work and didn't move...I figured I could make it up, but then knowing myself, I figured that could just spiral down...so I gave myself permission to just skip the one I missed.

The theme for today was something sweet.

At first I thought of all those Christmas treats we're supposed to have around the house at this time of year...but I don't have anything sweet in the house (weird I know!) and I don't have time to bake at the moment. Plus, I would have to clean up my kitchen for a photo, and who has time for that!? So, instead I was drawn to this sweet picture of my son, so immersed in his farm legos. I just love his sweet, pudgy hands and how he is so careful and precise about each piece. He just melts my heart...and that's sweeter than any cookie!

Kinder Turkey Projects

To remember for next year! I really liked the scrapbook paper feathers, and I had seen a bunch of turkeys on Pinterest using them...but most of the pics I saw had the kids using paint or painting their hands or feet. We just didn't have time to do that in our 2 half days before break!
