Summer Drawing...

Not as much time for art as I had originally thought...but isn't that the way it always goes!?

Here's another bookmark for my reading buddy - it's our favorite one yet!

Here's some of the cards for my nieces and nephews. I asked to know their favorite animal and then I try and find some version of that animal I feel like I could draw and then add in birthday things! I think the kids have been liking to get them in the mail :)

Also, my 5 year-old niece is quite the artist and we were using her cool sparkly pens on our beach trip this past weekend, and as we sat across from each other I noticed she was watching what I drew (upside-down!) and then would draw it on her own paper. Then she wanted to hang our artwork on the fridge, because of course! (we also made paper airplanes ala my designs because I couldn't remember the last step correctly - the kids were still impressed with my skills, haha).

And finally, I painted these story stones for a game for my kinders to play. My own kids played them on our beach trip as well. You pick out 5 rocks and then tell a story with whatever you get. My kids loved playing - I hope my students will too!

Art Update

Well, my art has definitely been slow going with all the crazy demands on my time these days, but it hasn't stopped. I've moved away from ATC trading, and it's been more satisfying going at my own pace.

I recreated one of my favorite pieces that I had traded away - this one's a little bigger and better than before.

A card for a friend - a very cool cat lady who likes this style of people :)

My sister's dog passed away and she asked for a painting to remember her by - my first attempt at animal watercolors...hmmm...

This was drawn for my husband's phone case, because he loves zentangles and the Sorcerer's Apprentice...it looked so cool with all the gradient filters etc...but we found out we couldn't use it..bummer.

Did a few more ATCs and limited myself to only colored pencils - very therapeutic.

And last, some old scans from the Draw 100 Things When You're Bored list and some DLP.

Checking in...

Well, I only made it half-way through the December photo challenge before I had to give up my camera...our transmission went out, and having to pay thousands of dollars to fix that meant giving up new toys...boo! But on a happier side-note - I did find my old camera so I have one again. Still not as good as the one I dropped (and definitely not the new one), but at least I can still take pictures...right!?

Anyways, I've still been doing a little art here and there.
These two cards were for a personal trade.

These cards were for the December PAT. The themes were a zebra (any color), a cat with wings, a rainbow lego man, and a rooster.

The themes for this group were Queen Elizabeth the 1st, Farscape TV show, a moonlight landscape with a house and trees, and a Thomas Kincade inspired landscape.

November PAT

Even though I've really scaled back my ATCs I still can't resist a PAT! I get to pick my own theme, and I'm usually happier with those returns. So, I've signed up for a few more PATs.

The themes for this group were: Buddha, mushroom house, realistic snail, and realistic bird.

The themes for this zentangle-group were: sunshine, heart, flower, and cat.

September PAT

Only a few months behind now, hehe.
For this group the themes were: the art of Arthur Rackham, a portrait of an artist in their own style, a rainbow giraffe and elephant, and a comedic portrayal of the players cat.

For this group the themes were: Rumpelstiltskin, a dog dressed up, a bumblebee, and a heron.
